I agree with Richard that it is a good idea to show the top card being displaced. In the end, the complete deck is left in the same setup it was in before the shuffle commenced. I learn't heinstein before the truffle shuffle, so normally I would prefer heinstein over truffle, however if you do not have a in the hand false riffle shuffle in your repertoire, I would recommend truffle over heinstein, due to simplicity and cost purposes. It creates a great sound and looks natural except for the faro action.

The required grip is difficult at first but the knack comes eventually. You must have blackmailed Karl or something because this was just simply too good to give away.

I knew I missed something. This is not for beginners, but intermediate magicians should be able to perform this with quite a bit of work.

Good to see here on forum! On everyone's recommendation, I've gone ahead and ordered the back issue of Genii to try out this shuffle. Get the video, it's great. The Heinstein Shuffle is an absolutely amazing in-the-hands false riffle shuffle created by Karl Hein.

shufvle I don't own either, but that's my first impressions. It's really hard to maintain the motivation to learn something when each attempt leaves you having to play pickup. Anyways, I hope that clears up a few things and helps a few of you. Once the thumb begins to spring the cards the wrists can angle up towards eye level because the sound and springing motion cover any discrepencies. In my opinion, the reason the shuffle looks so much better when I do it from shuff,e other people do it is for this reason.
